A Fresh Look at eLearning

There are many obvious benefits to eLearning for both the educator and the learner. Lower costs, easy accessibility and reliable delivery top the list. But when we look beyond the student-teacher paradigm we find eLearning benefits in some unexpected places.

It may be easier to see new applications if we lose the term eLearning along with all the connotations it has, and replace it with another term, say “iMedia”. Let’s think of iMedia as a highly interactive, multimedia, web based experience that adapts to the viewer’s responses. Now can you see new applications and advantages for this in your business?

I’ll give you three areas of applicability: Sales, Marketing and Branding. A good sales person listens and makes recommendations that fill a need or desire. Basically the sales person is educating the consumer. You can think of this as an interactive online advertisement.

Do you think your marketing department can use an interactive online system for collecting public opinion and disseminating product information?

People are already overloaded with a massive amount of digital information. How do you build a brand that people will remember? I’ll bet a fun interactive experience will be remembered long after a one directional ad.

Whatever you choose to call this technology, eLearning or iMedia, early adopters will have a definite competitive advantage. Play the video on this page and then let’s talk.
